This week SMART "R" ART'S Topic is Paisley ... Maybe so many of you didn't heard the name but you all must be familiar with this design.. As soon as you sees the design you can recognize it quickly… It is the very popular design that frequently appears in trendy Textile field and mehendi hand designs.. Paisley or Paisley pattern is a term in English for a design using the buta or boteh, a droplet-shaped vegetable motif of Persian origin. Such designs became very popular in the West in the 18th and 19th centuries, following imports of post-Mughal versions of the design from India, especially in the form of Kashmir shawls, and were then imitated locally. Paisley gained popularity as a pattern several centuries ago, when European explorers and traders transported shawls woven with paisley patterns from the Kashmir region of India to Europe, where it became extremely fashionable.
